My apologies for our silence this off-season. A lot has happened, and we are working to get back on track with our Bullring Promotions Group activities in preparation for the 2023 season. Below are a few features that we would like to touch on for the upcoming months.
The celebration of awards will be small this season, and as in years past, be tied to the spring registration party. The date and location are still being finalized and will be announced in the coming weeks.
Opening day for the 2023 season will be the Saturday after Mother’s Day. Our open practice events leading up to the opening will once again begin two weeks prior to opening day to allow for teams to test and tune, as well as secure their 2023 safety inspection.
A relatively major change to the 2023 season is that several of the events throughout the season with be shared with another leader in the industry (more on this to come soon). Our themed events such as Military Appreciation Night, Scout Night, Pirate ‘Nite”, Farm Days (with hayrides), and crown jewel ‘ShootOut at the BullRing’ will be back in 2023, along with special event memorials of the G-Dog Pro 4 (Dave Heimes) and the Sandy Vogler Memorial NYSS (Chris Vogler). These events will all be found on the 2023 schedule, once published.
The one event most dear to my heart will be the ‘Racer Reunion’ which will also celebrate my father, “Big Jim” and his contribution to local racing. Sadly, and unexpectedly, dad passed in December, but will be remembered always by his friendly conversation and winners circle congratulatory trophy distribution.
In our more immediate plans, we plan on continuing our participation at both the Syracuse Motorsports Expo March 11th-12th, and the Olean Center Mall Stock Car Show & Motorsports Expo March 17th-19th. Everyone is welcome to participate. Get your car ready to display in the Wyoming County Speedway booths.
The Bullring Promotions Group will also be interviewing for a marketing and promotions position to work alongside our seasoned veterans (Dakota, Angel, and I), in an effort to boost our fan and participant experience and improve our product on and off the track. If you’re interested, please reach out to me and we would be glad to bring you in to discuss our goals and details of the position further.
Divisional rules will be reviewed with some small adjustments already in the works. Be patient as we continue to develop the season, and we welcome your input in the process. New teams with questions or current participants with words of encouragement can call me directly to address the latest workings, rumors, etc., but until then... Let’s Go Racing!
